Celebrate the loving and curious temperament of the breed

PDCA Mission

The Pug Dog Club of America (PDCA) and PDCA membership serves as preservation defenders of the ancient pug breed and stewards of the pug standard for all AKC registered pugs in the United States. The purebred pug breed is preserved by providing and supporting pug breed education to pug owners, breeders, breed mentors and AKC judges. The Club and Membership strive to improve and maintain pug health, to recognize, understand and apply the pug standard during evaluation and to celebrate the loving and curious temperament of the breed. We want our pugs to happily compete with wellness and health in conformation, companion, and performance events, to lovingly support therapy and assistance programs, and to succeed as loyal family companions. The PDCA supports humane genetic canine research and helps fund research projects for those conditions that may affect the pug breed.
